I've been reminded of another microcontroller-based project I wanted to do, which is distracting me from the other one, oh no

For dotplan, I have considered doing something a bit like Jekyll and similar
blogging tools, where some YAML front matter could, if present, control the
rendering. So perhaps you could enable a more structured feed that is delimited
between entries in some way, use things like Markdown, and so on. I'm not sure
if I want to do this yet but it is on my list to explore.

dotplan is super cool and inspired me to revive thimbl, but there are some key
difference, one being that dotplan has no concept of entries, so you just
publish your plan and it pushed the newest one, which means you old posts are
not longer avalable on finger, and it also means that dotplan needs to retain
posts.

another differnce between normal finger deamons and how thimbl will work is
that normal finger assumes many user on one host that share a single finger
server, thimlb will just be single user, assume home or personal server and
generally recommend a tunnel rather that expose your server ip to the public
internet.

I think both approaches are valid, but thimbl is assuming one user per host,
and that the host has no public ip.

The original thimbl used a json formtted .plan, but I guess toml would be more human readable, thimbl complient clients could get entries, where as dotplan and other plain finger clients could just get the most recent entry.

I'm currently using pinggy to make tcp port public, but not really happy with the sevice, playit.gg is probaby better, but I guess I can just host my own chisel proxy instead of either.

Down the road, there should be a public thimbl/finger relay that supports tunnels.

J'ai écouté avec beaucoup de plaisir cette émission sur les tardigrades. La
Terre au carré, Les super-pouvoirs des tardigrades.

J'y ai notamment appris que certains tardigrades se reproduisent par clonage,
et comme le clonage, d'un point de vue évolution, c'est un peu "bof", ces
espèces "récupèrent" des gènes sur les êtres vivants qui les entourent ; et
donc leur "volent" les gènes qui permettent à ces espèces d'être adaptées à leur
environnement. Et comme ils font ça depuis des millions d'années, ils possèdent
même les gènes d'espèces disparues.

I called my new site dotplan.space. This implies I should be posting my plans. I haven't yet. So, here goes.

I am working on a synth. Currently doing some research into using an RP2350 to do the actual synthesis, and handle the MIDI or encoder controls. It has two cores - one per task seems to make sense. I'm going to use Rust and Embassy for this, I think.

After that, I intend to have a go at making a digitally controlled, analogue low-pass filter on it. Something akin to that on a 303, with cutoff and resonance. If I can make it sound approximately acidy that'll be a good start. Then I'll see where I can go from there.
